University of WI DOVS Partners with Burns Design Strategy for Mentoring Workshops

Last summer, I met Dr. Christina Thomas-Virnig, Ph.D. at the Madison/Milwaukee chapter of Women in Biohealth | Wisconsin Happy Hour. We were talking and I mentioned I had recently made my design strategy business my professional focus. Shortly thereafter, Christina introduced me to her colleague, Dr. Tetyana Schneider.

Together, they lead a robust mentoring program - People Enriching People (PEP) - which fosters and promotes the career aspirations of the Department of Visual Studies (DOVS) and the UW Health Ophthalmology community.

Last fall, I led their group through an introductory workshop about applying design thinking principles. The attendee feedback was great so they invited me back for a brand new session about using design thinking to strengthen leadership and mentoring skills. It was an absolute pleasure.
