The You Are Campaign

Why did you choose to fundraise on the Burns Design Strategy website rather than GoFundMe or KickStarter?

Burns Design Strategy is the business of Holly Anne Burns (author and writer of the book). To avoid extra fees coming out of the money raised, we chose to fundraise via this website so 100% of the money raised goes to the cause and the campaign (including the cost of printing and shipping rewards to donors of the higher rewards tiers if they don’t opt out. There are no physical rewards shipped to lower donation tiers. For more info on rewards, see the Campaign Rewards image included in the images on the bottom of the You Are Campaign page).

When will the You Are Campaign close?

We are working with MMSD regarding the details of receiving the book donations. Once details have been sorted a deadline will be shared. We will likely close the campaign in early 2025.

Languages: What languages is the book offered in?

Currently, the You Are book is offered in English. We hope to come out with a Spanish version soon and potentially a version including American Sign Language (ASL). We are considering other languages as well. Please reach out if you have a specific language request.

Why are there no images of people depicted in the book?

We purposely chose to design the book without images of people. One reason is because we want to keep the focus on the words, which are powerful on their own. The other reason is because we know children often seek out images that look like them and in this increasingly diverse world we didn’t want any child to feel left out if they couldn’t find their exact likeness.

I have questions about my donation. How can I reach you?

For donation questions, please email us. Please allow up to 72 hours for a reply to your inquiry.

If I want to follow the campaign to hear when the funding goal has been reached or what the final fundraising numbers are, how can I do that?

All donors to the campaign will be emailed when the campaign closes with information about reaching the fundraising goal and final fundraising numbers. Anyone else may sign up to the email list for updates.

Me and/or my organization has a potential collaboration or partnership opportunity to discuss with you specifically regarding the You Are campaign or the book itself. How should I reach out?

Buying You Are Books

My school district or education organization service would like to make a bulk purchase of the book. Do you offer discounts for bulk purchases and / or non-profits wishing to make large purchases?

Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If I buy a book, when will it be shipped?

Book orders will be shipped within 72 hours of purchase unless stated otherwise. International orders are being accepted on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions or requests please contact us.
